The Bone Collector by Jeffery Deaver

Wow! I can't believe I haven't discovered this author before now. This book is great and I'm not surprised there's a movie. I've probably got to see that soon. The book is practically written to be made into a movie! There are elements in it that you find in such shows as Criminal Minds, CSI, The Mentalist and Bones and yet it is completely different. I was hooked from the beginning and totally absorbed by the time things were coming together to solve the crime. I'm definitely continuing on with this series.

I read this about ten years ago and enjoyed it, too! There's actually a movie version of it--starring Angelina Jolie and Denzel Washington, which is also pretty good, for a movie adaptation...

Thanks for the post! I'm planning to get the movie. All through reading the book, I could just visualize it as a movie. I wonder if there will be more of this series made into movies, or better yet, a TV series! :)

I started this book at breakfast the other day and finished it at 3 am. I could not put it down and it ruined my work day (I work for myself and so I did not work that day). The book was like crack cocaine. Anyway I just watched the movie which is a tremendous disappointment. I don't know how the author feels but I'd be pissed.

I totally understand Tim! I would have read it straight through also, if I could take the time. The second one, The Coffin Dancer was equally as good and I'm into the third one, The Empty Chair now. I must say that although I enjoyed the movie on it's own, I also found it strayed from the book, but really, a lot of movies do. I think I'll just continue to read the book first!
